Delicatessens are also known as Delis. You’ve probably come across them before even if you think you haven’t.

A delicatessen is basically a shop which sells foods like cooked meats and cheeses, amongst other things. It’s difficult to define exactly what a delicatessen is, but a good approximation would be to say it’s any store that sells foods that take little preparation for serving. The foods are usually ready-to-eat or used to make things like salads and sandwiches.

Italian delicatessens are the probably the most common type of delicatessen. They’re not just physical stores either, there are lots of Italian delicatessens online. One example that I know of is Diforti, so you could always browse that site for an idea of the kind of products that they sell.
